Section 18 Set Creation & Solver Interface
Sets Creation Eight types of sets can be created. • Nodes – Nodes are grouped as a set. • Shell Elem – Shell elements are grouped as a set. • Solid Elem Face – The visible face of the solid elements are grouped as a set. • Solid Elem Layer – Solid elements are grouped as a set. • RBE – Rigid Bar Elements are grouped as a set
Sets Creation • Analysis Coordinate – This option is used to group nodes based on a local coordinate system. It is specific for Nastran. • Membrane Element – This option is used to create membrane element sets for Abaqus. These sets can be created from volume mesh bodies. • Nastran ASET – This option is used to create Nastran ASET / ASET1
Sets Creation • Node / Shell element / Solid element sets can be created from contact pairs. Contact pairs between the selected Master and Slave bodies within the specified tolerance will be found out and sets will be created. • Sets can be transferred from source to destination body based on CAD ID (or) Persistent ID.

Export • This dialog allows to export the model to relevant solver for analysis. • Solvers can be spawned directly from SimLab and the analysis results are loaded into SimLab. • Output requests can be specified. • Node and Elements Ids can be written either in ascending or descending order.
