  3. What exactly is cybersex? Cybersex is a virtual sexual encounter in which two or more people connect remotely via computer and send each other sexually explicit messages describing a sexual experience.

  4. What exactly is sexting? Sexting (a portmanteau of sex and texting) is the act of sending sexually explicit messages or photos electronically, primarily between mobile phones.

  5. Why is it against the law?   “The taking of a sexually explicit pictures of a child is manufacturing child pornography.  The transmission (sending of that picture electronically or otherwise) is distribution of child pornography.  Possessing such pictures is possession of child pornography.  The Code of Virginia, as it relates to these crimes, considers a child any person under the age of eighteen.  These crimes are felonies, maximum punishments range from 5 years to twenty years in prison.  Some of the crimes have a mandatory minimum sentence of five years that cannot be suspended or reduced.”  http://www.vachiefs.org/index.php/news/item/cyber_dating_out_sexting_in/

  6. Why Shouldn’t it be against the law

  7. It’s Only Fantasy Cybersex is a fantasy that is shared between two people, it never HAS to actully happen.

  8. Safety First By engaging yourself in sexting/cybersex you are avoiding the real thing for whatever reason, this is a safer way to enjoy another person.

  9. It’s not a secret anymore! Sexting used to be a secret, parents knew nothing about it… NOT ANYMORE

  10. It is totally different The images are usually always different in both nature and motivation from the type of content that anti-child pornography laws were created to address and handle.

  11. Handicapped?! Sexting and Cybersex allow people with handicaps and/or disabilities to experiment with their sexual feelings, that they might be unable to in reality.

  12. Pregnancy It really offers females the ability to involve themselves in a sexual atmosphere, without the risk of becoming pregnant.

  13. Separation It allows people who are physically separated, for whatever reason, the ability to continue being sexually intimate.

  14. It’s Everywhere It has been heavily reported in the U.K., Australia, New Zealand, U.S., and Canada.

  15. Court Cases In 2007, 32 Australian teens from the state of Victoria were tried and prosecuted as a result of sexting.

  16. Have you? Sent a text message insinuating sex or promoting a sexual gesture? Been in a relationship and sent a sexual picture to your partner? Received a sexual picture from a girl or boy?
