Ceux qui sontimportants(the important people) I have had many teachers (K-12) throughout my academic career thus far who have impacted me in many ways. I find myself to be a teacher candidate because of their guidance and their instruction on not just a professional level, but a personal level, too. The following were my role models in their respective grade:
Pourquoi?(Why?) Until July 2013, I had my mind set on business and becoming a businessman, but after serious reflection, I came to the conclusion in becoming an educator in my content area of interest: French language. After tutoring French natives in English while studying abroad and finding myself in total devotion to the language and culture, I decided to specialize in education so that I may share my knowledge and experience.
J’veux en partager!(I want to share it all!) To work in my own school district, to have my own room, and to have students to call my own are the three perfect ingredients to create the opportunity to share what I know. Foreign Language courses are mostly taken for graduation requirements, but I want to take a student’s interest in French from almost nothing to higher than ever. I want to be able to serve as a role model to those in need of guidance, too.
Retour dans la journée(Back in the day) R&D and Innovation was a stranger to me in my earlier academic years. From the laminations and overhead projector used in the first nine grades of my academic career to the SMARTBoard and new software in my high school years, technology has always been incorporated. The more I grew nearer to my diploma, the more use of technological advances occurred (i.e. laptops, iPads, Microsoft Office 2010-2013, etc).
Adhérant aux normes(Adhering to standards) In compliance with the CCSS for Ohio educators, technology is one aspect of my lessons that will bring optimum understanding of the French language and an amelioration of communication standards: • Interpretive • Interpersonal • Presentational Technology will be implemented and co-constructed within my classroom, since my subject matter transcends domestic borders and cultural understanding supplements to my teaching content. ACTFL Proficiency Scale
Adhérant aux normes(Adhering to standards) Technological use in the classroom setting gives students not only technological comprehension, but also a personal benefit for that student’s thought processing and community expansion. The National Educational Technology Standards (NETS) assists both the instructor and the students in ameliorating their experience(s) with using technology in activity and assessment completion.
Adhérant aux normes(Adhering to standards) Partnership for 21st Century Skills (P21) is a venue which provides both ends of the educational spectrum between educators and learners cornerstones in constructing a foundation to reach long-term goals and development of many skills and honorable attributes of a scholar.
Philisophie(Philosophy) Technology is the gateway to opportunity. With the use of various types of technology in my lessons, students will have the opportunity to open their mind to different cultures, a new language, and a deeper understanding of internationalism and how we are all connected.
