  3. Decimal Numbers • Remember that a decimal number is a part of a whole number. • We can think of decimal numbers as fractions when comparing.

  4. Fraction-Decimal Equivalents

  5. Example • 0.5 is five tenths • 0.5 can be written as 5/10 • 0.5 is also ½ 1/10 5/10 = ½

  6. Example • 0.7 is seven tenths • 0.7 can be written as 7/10 5/10
