Symbols • < is less than • > is greater than • = is equal to
Decimal Numbers • Remember that a decimal number is a part of a whole number. • We can think of decimal numbers as fractions when comparing.
Example • 0.5 is five tenths • 0.5 can be written as 5/10 • 0.5 is also ½ 1/10 5/10 = ½
Example • 0.7 is seven tenths • 0.7 can be written as 7/10 5/10
