Building collaboration • AMEXCAN and the National Alliance of Latin American and Caribbean Communities (NALACC) travel to Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras to visit with legislators and nonprofit organizations to discuss their migrant communities’ problems in the U.S. Event sponsored by AMEXCAN and NALACC

  13. LULAC in North Carolina • Sponsored an information workshop with representatives of LULAC (League of United Latin American Citizens). Goal; To start a LULAC Chapter with AMEXCAN in North Carolina.

  14. What is LULAC? • Founded in 1922, LULAC has115,000 members and is the largest and oldest Hispanic Organization in the United States. LULAC advances the economic condition, educational attainment, political influence, health and civil rights of Hispanic Americans through community-based programs operating at more than 700 LULAC councils nationwide. The organization involves and serves all Hispanic nationality groups

  15. Building collaboration • The Association of Mexicans in North Carolina (AMEXCAN), has reached out to more than 45,000 people with these programs and services during this time frame.
