Thesis statement • “Drums are the heart and soul of the band” says Ringo Starr.
Origins of the drums • The first African drums were adapted by the ancient Romans in 200 B.C. • The Turk made bass drum spread throughout Europe in the 1500s. • African tom-toms took the place of Chinese tom- toms
Drum set parts From then until now, drums increased in parts. • two-rack toms • a floor tom • bass drum • Snare • ride cymbal • crash cymbal • hi-hat cymbal • There are so many cymbal sizes because as the use of cymbals increased in use, the size gradually increased.
The sound of different drums • The snare sounds like there are beads inside when you strike it. • The bass drum is a very low pitch drum. The three cymbals are high pitch • The two rack tom-toms that sound like you are banging your hand on a metal coffee can • The floor tom which sounds the same but your banging harder on a metal coffee can.
Well.. Some famous drummers are • Alex Van Halen from Van Halen • Lawrence from Metallica • My personal favorite is Ringo Star from the Beatles • Sunja lica from x Japan • Phil Collins from Genesis • Adam from Three Days Grace • Joey Jordison from slipknot.
Some drum set brands are: • Starcaster • Yamaha • Ludwig • Firstact • Tama • Gretch • Pearl • Symba • Primer • Trixon • electronic drums
Me: • I myself have a starcaster and have been playing drums for a year and a half
Drums are the heart and soul of the band. They keep everything together and up to speed. You don’t have to be Ringo Star or any one listed above, but everyone should play the drums.
It’s healthy, entertaining, and the fame is completely worth it all. Who knows, you might eventually become a millionaire! I certainly hope one day I get caught in the fame and the spotlight and can earn and get donated all the drum sets listed above, so I could have one in every room of my house. That would be the greatest feeling ever!
