  6. So, what is rhetorical analysis? • We know what rhetoric is. • What is analysis?

  7. Analysis: • The separation of an intellectual or material whole into its constituent parts for individual study.

  8. What? • Break it down: • To analyze: to study something closely: to examine something in great detail in order to understand it better or discover more about it

  9. So, to perform rhetorical analysis we would…

  10. Fantastic, let’s eat some cereal!

  11. Your task: In your group you will analyze your cereal.

  12. You may touch your cereal, look at (examine)your cereal, and eat your cereal.

  13. You will then discuss the following:

  14. What type of cereal is this? Do you know the name, the brand?.

  15. Who is this cereal for? Who is it marketed toward?

  16. How is it marketed to this specific audience.

  17. Discuss then write down your ideas. You will then present.
