  3. CCNA English v3.x Instructor Requirement • There were enough changes to the content of CCNA version 2.1.4 to require that instructors demonstrate their proficiency on new content for CCNA version 3.x.

  4. What does demonstrating proficiency mean? • Pass the CCNA v3.x Bridge final exam with an 80% or higher. • Successfully complete the skills-based exams: • CCNA 2 Bridge SBA • CCNA 3 Bridge Routing SBA • CCNA 3 Bridge Switching SBA • CCNA 4 Bridge SBA

  5. Instructor Bridge Classes • The Bridge classes are offered to those who have completed pre-version 3.x classes. • Instructors are not required to attend training. • CATC and Regional Academies are offering opportunities to attend training classes in order to prepare instructors for the required exams.

  6. Original Notification of Requirement • CCNA Instructors were notified via email in June 2003 that they would need to demonstrate proficiency in the CCNA v3.x Bridge materials by August 31, 2004.

  7. What happened with the August 31 Deadline? Based on the feedback received from the Instructor Community, Cisco decided to extend the deadline for instructors to demonstrate proficiency by December 31. Because the curriculum is just now becoming available in languages other than English, deadlines for demonstrating proficiency in CCNA v3.x other language versions will be set at a later date.

  8. Cisco to Notify Instructors Individuallyof Noncompliance • September 1, 2004 - Cisco sent an email to all Instructors who had not demonstrated proficiency for CCNA English v3.x Bridge materials. • Instructors were directed to contact the Legal Main Contact or the Curriculum Lead at their support (CATC/Regional) Academy.

  9. CCNA English v3.x Proficiency Plan Overview • Support Academies (CATCs/Regionals) are required to create a proficiency plan using the online quality tool for each instructor within their CCNA hierarchy who has not met the CCNA English v3.x proficiency requirement and is planning on teaching CCNA in English.

  10. CCNA English v3.x Proficiency Plan Overview • CATCs/Regionals will contact individual noncompliant instructors to develop a plan for demonstrating proficiency. • Support Academies will report the proficiency plans and estimated training completion dates for each instructor.

  11. CCNA English v3.x Proficiency Plan Overview • ByDecember 31, 2004, all noncompliant instructors should have a plan to complete Bridging or the system will automatically suspend their ability to create classes and to be named as a secondary instructor in a CCNA English v3.x class. • OnJuly 30, 2005, Academy Connection will automatically turn off the ability for an instructor to add a class if they have not proven proficiency (not qualified) in CCNA English v3.x. This means that plans are NOT continued, and there are no more extensions of the deadline to prove proficiency. Instructors are either qualified or not at this point.

  12. Key Dates - Proficiency Process Plan Regionals/CATC begin to create CCNA proficiency plans for each instructor. September 2004 Regionals complete Proficiency Plan for each of their noncompliant instructors & send to CATCs. October 2004 System automatically turns off ability to create classes for noncompliant instructors who do not have a plan noted in the On-line Quality Tool. December 31 2004 System will automatically turn off the ability for an instructor to add a class if they have not proven proficiency. This means that no plans are continued, and no more extensions.
