MSC.Fatigue 2000Wheels Module DEVELOPED IN COLLABORATION WITH BFG AEROSPACE AND nCODE
Multiple Results - Travel N=36 Static Load Cases
Stress-time history createdfor each load condition... Multiple solutions performed to obtain stresses for each node at various positions relative to the load. Stress at Node n 1 2 ... ... 35 36
PROCEDURE • Extract stress histories and calculate fatigue lifes from stress data from multiple FEA solutions • User selects the FEA solution sets used to define each load condition • Display Results • Determine plane of critical fatigue damage • Calculate stresses and fatigue damage in angular increments about each node • Sum damage for each angular increment
FE-Based Wheel FatigueAnalysis Using MSC.Fatigue MODIFICATIONSTO MSC.FATIGUE
Wheel Fatigue: Job Control & Results After selecting “full analysis” on the job control form, the software produces a stress-time history for each node containing N points (extracted from the N load cases). It then conducts a rainflow cycle count and calculates fatigue damage (a typical SN analysis).
Summary • MSC.FATIGUE provides benefits of an FE-based fatigue analysis design process. • Reduced development time • Reduced development cost • Improved product quality • MSC.FATIGUE “Wheels” module developed is fully functional in core Fatigue.
