School Day • First day of school for students –Tuesday, September 6th • Breakfast Program - 7:30a.m. students arrive and enter through the Lee Ave. side door across from picnic tables. There will be an aide to pick up the children. • School begins promptly at 8:08a.m. PreSchool students will assemble in the courtyard between the Main Entrance and the small gym located on the Lee Avenue side of the building. • Lunch/Recess is a 42 minute period divided in half. The first 21 minutes is the students’ lunchtime and the last 21 minutes is a recess period. • After-Care – 2:50p.m. – 6:00p.m. – contact person – Mrs. Harriette Parrish-Rossi at 973-790-9000 ext. 225 • Dismissal time –2:40p.m.
Preparation • Questions to ask yourself: • Is your child independent? • Has your child spent time away from you? • Can he/she work on projects on his/her own? • Is he/she ready to participate in group activities? • Is he/she used to keeping a regular schedule? • Does he/she have the physical stamina for preschool? • Why do you want to send him/her to preschool? • Foster and Promote Independence for your child. • Saying “Good Bye”… • Provide consistent structures for your child – avoid changing routines or plans in the middle of the school day.
