Week one objectives • Become acclimated with PCI – Review orientation packet with Instructor. • Understanding the importance of safety - Review basic safety, daily operations and department rules & regulations. • Understanding how to utilize PCI LMS & LRS. – Moodle & Learning Resources. • Setting up the iPad. – Apple ID, PCI.EDU email. • Knowing what to expect – Your teachers will provide an overview on how we teach you & assessment methods.

  3. Week one objectives [cont.] • Working safely with tools and equipment in the shop. (Snap-On) • The basics – Courtesy inspection, RO, PM services & etiquette. • Self-Assessment – Begin with the end in mind

  4. Orientation Packet • The orientation packet is a guide used to help familiarize you with the Automotive Technology Program. Your Instructor will review this with you.

  5. Safety and Hazmat Training • As part of your training you have multiple learning resources available to you while you are in school. • SP2.org has the required training modules for you to take. • Please see your Instructor for access to register and begin to take these courses. • You will gain a certificate of training upon completion and passing of each module.

  6. Vehicle Documentation • Each vehicle must have a signed Terms of Service and Release of Liability from the registered owner of the vehicle. • The Instructor will issue a vehicle parking pass to be hung on the rear view mirror. • Students will complete a Student Repair Order and Courtesy Inspection. • The Courtesy Inspection may reveal the need to complete a full Vehicle Safety Inspection as well. • Fender Covers must always be utilized when working under the hood of any vehicle.

  10. Vehicle Courtesy Inspection Report • In the courtesy Inspection you must detail any pre-existing vehicle damage. • You must always document your recommendations to your customer on the repair order and attach the completed courtesy inspection report. • The Courtesy Inspection may reveal a closer inspection is required warranting a full safety inspection.

  11. Vehicle Safety Inspection Complete the Safety Inspection and detail all findings with recommendations to your customer.

  12. Weekly Self-Assessment • Remember that while your Instructors provide an assessment of you it is equally important that you assess yourself as well. Use the Weekly Self Assessment to ensure you are getting enough practice in areas in which you wish to improve.
