  3. Designation Process • ARB adopts State standards to protect public health and welfare • ARB adopts designation criteria and area designations • Designations indicate healthfulness of air quality • Designations reviewed annually March 16 2011 3

  4. Data to Use • “Data for Record” Meet siting and QA procedures Collected by ARB, Districts, others • Time Period • Most recent 3 calendar years • Current review: 2007-2009 March 16 2011 4

  9. Ozone Designations • Two Standards 1-hour = 0.09 ppm 8-hour = 0.070 ppm Both are not to be exceeded • Area must meet both standards for Attainment designation March 16 2011 9
