Carl G. J. Jacobi was born in Potsdam Germany December 10 1804. He was Jewish. He was a math teacher and was considered the most inspiring teacher of his time.
From 1819 to 1821 he went to the Victoria- Gymnasium. After that he studied at Berlin University and got a degree for Doctor of Philosophy in 1825. for his degree he did a study on fractions. In 1827 he became an extraordinary professor. In 1829 he became a professor of mathematics at Konigsberg University until 1842.
His greatest efforts in math was in elliptical functions. An elliptical function is a function that is defined on a complex plain and that is periodic in 2 directions. His 2nd greatest effort towards math was the Hamilton Jacobi theory. This deals with differential equations and rational mechanics.
