  6. Course Learning Outcomes • Comprehend, apply and evaluate the different techniques used in concurrency control and recovery and find advantages and disadvantages of each. Also, propose improvements to them. • Comprehend and apply query processing methodologies • Analyze and design a suitable database fragmentation based on a given a set of demands and constraints and decide the best way of executing queries on them. • Learn and apply database administration techniques, taking Oracle as an example • Have knowledge of emerging database technologies such as Object-Oriented Databases, Object-Relational Databases, Data Warehouse and Data Mining techniques, Mobile Database, XML Introduction
