What is going on? • Write a narrative of the picture. What do you see? What do you think the people were thinking? Can you describe what is happening?
What’s your plan? • Harriet Tubman had to come up with a plan for her escape. Write a simulated journal of your plan to escape slavery. Also plan your return to save your family.
What song would you sing? • Many slaves in the Underground Railroad wrote songs that were directions to warn others and protect them. Write a song and provide the translation.
