Mountains and plateaus • High mountains in region historically limited contact. • The Himalayas serve as a natural barrier and feature Mount Everest, the worlds tallest mountain peak. • Many climbers have died trying to reach it’s summit.
Rivers, Deltas, and Plains Three major rivers in region: • They carry rich soil on their journey from the mountains.
Islands and Peninsulas • Sri Lanka and Maldives make up two small countries off the southern coast of India.
