Reminder 78/214 Goal • The goal of the 78/214 SPR reqs is to set the target reqs for the SESAR (i4D) and NextGen (Baseline 2) systems based on a converged Continental/Oceanic approach • The 78/214 SPR reqs are independent of particular technologies (eg. FANS, ATN, ACARS, IP, …) • Yet, The 214/78 Operational, Performance, safety requirements should be validated to be a correct set of requirements
FANS discussions in 78/214 (1) • FAA intends to use the 214/78 SPR reqs as the basis for its DL programme • FANS is the technology planned for Phase 1 of the FAA DL Programme (eg. DCL …) • Discussions how particular technologies can meet the SPR reqs are outside 214/78 Tors • The analysis takes place within the regional programmes that select the particular technology • 214/78 welcomes feedback on the correctness of the SPR reqs from safety analysis, trials and simulations for particular technologies, conducted within data link implementation/research programmes • The VSG validation plan has a procedure to collect feedback from external projects
FANS discussions in 78/214 (2) • The European DL Implementing Rule is based on ATN Baseline 1. FANS is accommodated on a decision from each individual European ATSP, for the provision of non-profile changing messages • Discussions are ongoing in Europe, to study possible mitigations to allow the exchange of profile changing messages in Europe (on a per state decision basis)
4D TRAD OSA • Discussed in SGs in Grand Rapids • 4DTRAD is a new ATM concept:In addition to the ADS-C and CPDLC SRs, other ‘4DTRAD’ specific SRs may be required as a result of safety analysis, trials and simulations for 4DTRAD. • The 4DTRAD OSA is a comparative assessment, i.e. it checks whether the SRs, established for the ADS-C and CPDLC applications are sufficient to mitigate the 4DTRAD hazards. In addition to the ADS-C and CPDLC SRs, other ‘4DTRAD’ specific SRs may be required. • Approach to be assessed after validation
CSG proposals • OPA Combination of Performance Allocations • The CSG proposes to combine the performance allocations for the ATSU and the ACSP, into a single allocation for the ANSP.
