What does the BLUEPRINT do? OUTLINES THE MAIN POINTS OF YOUR ESSAY POINT 1= PARAGRAPH ONE POINT 2= PARAGRAPH TWO POINT 3- PARAGRAPH THREE
What goes in each BODY PARAGRAPH? • Match up the following Paragraph 1 Your Life Experience Paragraph 2 Prompt Given Paragraph 3 Text Studied in Class

A good BODY will… • Relate back to your thesis statement. • Form a bridge or transition to the next idea. • Contain the following: • Topic sentence • Point one • Supporting evidence for point one • Point two • Supporting evidence for point two • Point three • Supporting evidence for point three • Concluding sentence
A good CONCLUSION will.. • Summarize your essay and tie up any loose ends. • NOT introduce any new information or arguments in your conclusion.
Conclusions contain: • Restatement of the thesis • Restatement of topic sentences • Terminator
What else to remember? • DO NOT USE I or ME or MY in any other paragraph than paragraph number _____ • Make a TITLE • Double Space • EDIT • THINK OF ALL THE GRAMMAR RULES YOU KNOW (REVIEW THEM IF NECESSARY!)
