  7. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever- 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees himnor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with youand will be in you. John 14:16-17 Counselor: parakletos (par-ak'-lay-tos); an intercessor, consoler, advocate, comforter, helper.

  8. But it is actually best for youthat I go away, because if I don't, the Counselor won't come. If I do go away, he will come because I will send him to you. John 16:7

  9. WHY THEN ARE MANY LIVING A SPIRIT-LESS LIFE? • THEY IGNORE THE HOLY SPIRIT. 5 Those who let their sinful old selves tell them what to do live under that power of their sinful old selves. But those who let the Holy Spirit tell them what to do are under His power. 6 If your sinful old self is the boss over your mind, it leads to death. But if the Holy Spirit is the boss over your mind, it leads to life and peace. Rom 8:5-6

  10. WHY THEN ARE MANY LIVING A SPIRIT-LESS LIFE? • THEY FIGHT/RESIST THE HOLY SPIRIT. "You stiff-necked people, with uncircumcised hearts and ears! You are just like your fathers: You always resist the Holy Spirit! Acts 7:51

  11. 7 The mind that thinks only of ways to please the sinful old self is fighting against God. It is not able to obey God’s Laws. It never can….9 But you are not doing what your sinful old selves want you to do. You are doing what the Holy Spirit tells you to do, if you have God’s Spirit living in you. Rom 8:5-9

THE HOLY SPIRIT WILL COMFORTYOU.16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever… John 14:16 KJVCOUNSELYOU.             13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide youinto all truth. John 16:13“Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.’” Isaiah 30:21

  13. THE HOLY SPIRIT WILL CONVICT YOU.8 When (the Spirit) comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment: John 16:8 EMPOWERYOU.             You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you Rom 1:8

  14. Imagine if you Acknowledge Him instead of Ignore Him! • Imagine if you are letting Him to comfort, counsel, convict and empower you instead of resist/fight Him!
