Mission Statement The Black History Committee of Orange County, Inc. is committed to educating our citizens on American History. The BHCOC is committed to improving dialogue as it pertains to the contributions that African-Americans have made to society as a whole. The committee is also committed to improving literacy in our community by donating funds to students who wish to continue their education by obtaining an undergraduate or graduate degree, and to help the disadvantaged at large.
Goals of BHCOC • The BHCOC celebrates the achievements and contributions African Americans have made to society. • The committee’s goal is to ensure that Black History continue to be a vital part of American History. • The BHCOC believes in showcasing the rich culture and contributions that African Americans have made by displaying their Art, Dance, Music, Songs, Literature, Books, Artifacts, Clothing, Rich Soul Food and Much More.

Scholarships Donated BHCOC has donated over $100,000 to local Schools, Colleges and Universities in Orlando and throughout the State of Florida. • Pineloch Elementary • Valencia Community College • University of Central Florida • Florida A&M University • Bethune Cookman
Scholarships Donated In past years, over $5,000 was also donated to the community at large to help with Tutoring, Water for Haiti, Victims of Fire, Little League, local Churches and more.
