Herman Miller – Company Structure • Our Baan Implementation • Company Structure • We are a single Financial multi logistic company structure. We have 8 manufacturing sites implemented on Baan 4c3. Our brg tables are shared. • 1,300 active users, 1,200 using the dynamic menu’s. 270 processes • Our desire is to achieve greater integration • The Key Importance of DEM • We built our model before beginning the implementations and brought all companies up on that model. We export this model to our test, and training companies and then use the model for IFT’s and training. This has enabled us to use the same processes at all sites for functional areas that are the same. • When we began this whole ordeal we were not real good at business system process documentation, that’s changed . A good discipline.
Business Requirements / Solution • The key business requirements • Access to our ERP system • Menu configuration • Process Documentation • ISO Work instructions • Our initial solution • A Look at Our Dynamic Menu • A Look at Document Control • Our current solution after implementing EZ-Publisher • A Look at Our Web Version: • A Look at Our Use on Non-Baan Applications • Additional Requirements not easily meet • Process driven Training • To have a central Knowledge Repository (beyond Baan only) • The ability to create processes documentation for non-Baan applications • The ability to execute non-Baan processes • The ability to distribute to non-Baan users/departments • Easier access to Baan processes
Let’s get creative • What else can we do to leverage DEM • Business Requirement for Process simulation • The need to document the physical manufacturing process. • The need to simulate changes to the physical manufacturing process. • Solution • Physical Manufacturing Process in DEM! • Available with touch screen navigation. • Ability to do process simulation with EZ-BPR
Benefit’s • What we achieved • Process Management with Business Partners • For both Internal and External Business Partners • The Benefits • We’ve been able to improve the way we do business making us more efficient and reliable.
