  1. HOW TO WASH YOUR HAIR AT QUEENS Twelve quick steps to transform your hair from appearing unsightly, dull, and greasy to looking nice, fresh, and clean.

  2. Supplies: An operating shower 1 Bottle of Shampoo (whichever brand you prefer) 1 Bottle of Conditioner (whichever brand you prefer) 1 Body Towel Note: It is important to have hair on your scalp for this exercise.

  3. Step 1: Be sure to close the curtain, hang up your towel outside of the shower on a hook, and remove clothing before entering the shower. (Or, put on a bathing suit before.) Take the shampoo and conditioner of your choice, and enter into an empty shower. Don’t forget to bring the two bottles along with you. Place the two bottles on the floor of the shower.

  4. Step 2: Turn on the shower, rotating the handle to the left until it reaches your preferred temperature. You are now ready to begin!

  5. Step 3: Move under the shower head and wet your hair completely.

  6. Step 4: Pick up your shampoo, open the cap, and squeeze the shampoo into your hand until you are holding a squirt that is roughly the size of a quarter. You can use a little more shampoo for longer or thicker hair. Now, place the bottle back down onto the shower floor.

  7. Step 5: Step to the side, out of the water but not out of the shower. Using the desired amount of shampoo in your hands, work the shampoo into your hair until your hair is fully lathered.

  8. Your hair should now be foamy.

  9. Step 6: Step back into the flow of water, and stand underneath the shower head. Rinse out all of the shampoo until hair is completely rid of suds.

  10. Step 7: Pick up your conditioner, open the bottle cap, and squeeze the conditioner into your hand until you are holding about a quarter-sized amount. More conditioner may be used for longer, thicker, or dryer hair. Now, place the bottle back down onto the shower floor.

  11. Step 8: Again, step to the side, out of the flow of water but not out of the shower. Work the desired amount of conditioner into your hair until your hair is fully covered with conditioner.

  12. Your hair should now be totally coated with conditioner.

  13. Step 9: Step back into the flow of water underneath the shower head. Rinse out your hair until it is completely rid of conditioner. Hair should feel silky, smooth, and soft to the touch.

  14. Step 10: Turn the handle of the shower to the right until the water completely stops flowing from the shower head.

  15. Step 11: Grab your towel from the outside of the shower and use it to remove excess water from your hair. You can be creative with this step: simply run the towel through your hair, create a towel-turban, or do both!

  16. Step 12: Take the towel and wrap it around your body so that it covers all private areas. You can now exit the shower, still wrapped in your towel, and put on some everyday clothes in your room. Don’t forget to return your shampoo, conditioner, and towel to your room as well. Drying your hair is optional. CONGRATIULATIONS! You have now successfully washed your hair at Queens! Now go out to the quad, and flaunt your clean hair!
