  2. Purpose The purpose of this orientation is to provide you with important information for your new job at the University Housing Department

  3. Instructions • You will be presented with 5 modules that include a variety of job relate information. • Each module contains objectives • After each objective you will be asked to answer a review question. • After you have chosen an answer, proceed to the next slide to see the correct answer.

  6. Module Objective Employee must be able to identify or list key dates, people, and facts relating to the University as a whole after completing this module.

  7. Objective 1University Background • Employee will be able to correctly identify the following facts: -When the University was founded -Approximate number of employees and students

  8. University Background • University founded in 1801 to unite South Carolinians after the American Revolution • University has more that 26,000 enrolled at the Columbia Campus • Faculty is made up of about 1,500 full-time employees

  34. Module Objective Upon completion of this module, the employee will be able to recognize the importance of the Mission of University Housing; University Housing goals and the responsibilities of the 3 Units of Housing.

  35. Objective 1Mission Statement When asked, employee must provide orally to the trainer the two things that University Housing hopes to promote through a living and learning community.
