  3. Narrative Genre • All relates of facts located in a determined period of time. • Ex: A novel. • Expressed in prose and verse. • Prose: Novel, legend, fairy tales, etc. • Verse: romance, epopee, etc.

  4. Dramatic Genre • Written plays to be performed on a stage to the audience. The elements: the dialogue and action. • Ex: Romeo and Juliet. • Sub: • Comedy, Tragedy and Drama.

  5. Lyric Genre • Works in which predominate the subjective world or writter’s inner feelings. • Ex: A poetry. • Classified in: • Ode, song, satire, etc.

  6. Types • Fictional and non-fictional

  7. All categories of books or stories can be called eitherfiction or non-fiction. Fiction • A made up story • Can tell about things that could happen • Is read for fun • Characters may be like real people or imaginary Non-Fiction • Has facts that can be checked and proven • The author is an expert on this information.
