Needs to be clear and identifiable • RESPONSABILITY: Who is the SOP for? • PURPOSE: What are the aims of the SOP • SCOPE: What does the SOP apply to? • PROCEDURE: The task to be set out step by step • KNOWN RISKS: Risks to the task not being performed correctly, illness etc. • REVIEW: A date should be set and the SOP’s need to be reviewed re issued and re read annually
