Hawk Watch is a program that educates students to be proactive in helping others. It aims to raise awareness of helping behaviors, increase motivation to help, and develop skills and confidence in responding to problems or concerns.

Hawk watch Hawk Watch is a prosocial behavior and bystander intervention program that educates students to be proactive in helping others. The goals of Hawk Watch are to: • Raise awareness of helping behaviors • Increase motivation to help • Develop skills and confidence when responding to problems or concerns • Ensure the safety and well-being of self and others “If not you, then who?”

Bystander: anyone who sees or hears a behavior that could lead to something high risk or harmful. They then have the choice to do something or not. “If not you, then who?”
Passive Bystander: Those who choose to do nothing “If not you, then who?”
Active Bystander: Those who DO SOMETHING to decrease the likelihood that something bad will occur or get worse. “If not you, then who?”

Is that for real? • Subtle cues sometimes reveal a lot • Intervening doesn’t always mean flying in like a superhero, simply checking in with that person or getting more people involved can make a big impact • Consider language used on college campus, what is okay or even considered normal…what are we really saying though “If not you, then who?”
