BRIEF TEA HISTORY • 1993 - West Palm Beach, Florida – Mike Thornal * Significant – George Bradfield first appeared on the scene • 1994 – Columbus, Ohio – Ron Bauer • 1995 – Mobile, Alabama – Lamar Woodham, Jr. * Significant – (1) The Great Kahuna Award established
BRIEF TEA HISTORY * Significant – (2) Workshop attendees decided to establish an “Estimating Organizational Committee” for formal recognition of a cost estimation association • 1996 - Oklahoma City, Oklahoma – Joe James * Significant – Committee recommended establishment of the Transportation Estimators’ Association and adopted constitution and bylaws.

AASHTO RECOGNITION There was a basic core group that always supported the effort to get recognized by AASHTO.

AASHTO RECOGNITION Today – Technical Committee on Cost Estimating under the Highway Subcommittee on Design (SCOD) of AASHTO’s Standing Committee on Highways (SCOH) i.e., We are the TCCE of the SCOD of the SCOH. And that’s a true story!
