  2. What is a blog? • It is a term that is short for ‘weblog’. • This can be anything from myspace to facebook to the ASU blog that we will be talking about today.

  3. Blogs can be used for: • Personal diary • Classroom updates • Breaking news outlet • Private thoughts • Memos to the world • Anything you desire to make public

  4. For your viewing pleasure, ASU provides: • Blogs for students, faculty and staff • They provide this because of the growing use of technology • ASU uses wordpress, because its easy to use

  5. Creating an ASU blog • Go to http://blog.asu.edu/ • Click on link “Create a blog” • Create shortname • This will be your permanent URL to access your blog directly • Enter information, pick an appropriate title for your blog • Enter a tagline, this is a short description like “Peters life at ASU”

  6. Creating a ASU Blog cont. • Your ASU email address should automatically be entered, if not do so • Decide whether to make this public on ASU’s blog directory • Now, click make my blog!

  7. You’ve got a blog!!! • A confirmation e-mail will be sent to you • Type in your blog address in the URL • This will direct you to your blog • Let’s go there now…
