  2. Sudan’s capital is khartoum • Khartoums population is 2,207,794 people • It is the largest city in Sudan • Khartoum doesn’t have many exotic animals, but it does have many farm animals like goats and horses to pull farm equipment.

  3. Location • Sudan’s relative location is it is surrounded by eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Dem. Rep. of Congo, Chad, Libya, and Egypt. • It is located also on the northeast coast of Africa. • Sudan also bordering the Red Sea.

  4. Main Geographic Features • The area of Sudan is 967,500 square miles. • Sudan is the largest country in Africa and almost the size of the continental U.S. east of the Mississippi river. • Sudan is mainly flat with some mountains in the east and west.

  5. Climate • The climate of Sudan is mostly desert and savanna in the north and the central regions and tropical in the south.

  6. Ethnic Groups • The people in the north are mostly Arab/Muslim and black African/Christian and Amist in the south. RELIGIOUS GROUPS • Sunni Muslim 70%; indigenous beliefs 25%; Christian 5%

  9. Most Used Language • Arabic is the official language in Sudan. • Other Languages; Nubian, Tu Bedawin, other Sudanic languages, and English.
