  2. Who was Mikhail Lermontov? The Mikhail Lermontov is named after a famous Russian poet called Mikhail Lermontov whole lived in the 1800s. It is a cruise ship designed to take passengers around the lovely waters of New Zealand and the rest of the world. Mikhail Lermontov in 1837.

  3. Information about Mikhail Lermontov The Mikhail Lermontov was owned by the Baltic shipping company. IMFORMATION: The displacement it took was 4,956 metric tons. Length 155 meters or 578 feet. Cruising speed 21 knots Capacity 1334 (passengers ) 356 (Cruse serve). Crew 347 on board.

  6. How many People on board and how many died? 356 passengers and 164 Russian crew members were on board but only one man died. The ship was so close to the shore that the passengers were able to swim or life raft to safety. The crew member who died got trapped in the engine room and drowned.
