Network • Currently estimate that the Smarter Balanced assessment will require 10–20 Kbps per student or less. • The bandwidth checker is hosted at https://air.tds.airast.org/student/Pages/LoginShell.aspx?section=sectionDiagnostics&c=SBAC_PT. • It can be run using modern versions of Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome on computers with Windows, OS X, or Linux operating systems; Safari on tablets using the iOS operating system; and Chrome on tablets using the Android operating system. The bandwidth checker cannot be accessed using Internet Explorer. Provided by the Idaho state department of education

Accommodations • SDE will only upload into TIDE required demographic information, such as isIEP and/or is504. • SDE will not put into TIDE the specific accommodations and/or designated supports. • District and/or Schools will have the ability to do a bulk upload or adjust the student test settings by student through the TIDE system. • This information can be found in the Smarter Balanced TIDE User’s Guide (attached). On pg. 29 of the documents begins the section regarding Student Test Settings. Pgs. 34/35 lists which fields they will be able to set. • The two webinars (http://sbac.portal.airast.org/field-test/) specific to TIDE and Accessibility and Accommodations are: • TIDE User Roles: Module will provide detailed information on how to upload student information and manage users, as well as other feature found on the Test Information Distribution Engine (TIDE). TARGET AUDIENCE: District test coordinators and administrators • Accessibility and Accommodations: Module will provide an overview of various tools that are provide to accommodate a student’s testing needs. Step 6: Estimated Testing Time* • Create testing schedules *Times are estimates of test length for most students. Smarter Balanced assessments are designed as untimed tests; some students may need and should be afforded more time than shown in this table. Provided by the Idaho state department of education

Step 7 • Operational Test • April 1 to May 16 is the window • Accounts come from local admins (Sups or DTC’s) • TIDE gets populated on 2/14/14 • Data will come from January ISEE. • Session ID’s/tickets printed through TIDE • Use secure browsers • Logins, tickets, proctoring, test security • User Manual has recommendations Provided by the Idaho state department of education
