Ministry Feedback • OCTE is the only all-subject province wide subject association consulted by the Ministry on secondary tech ed issues • Other tech ed subject specific associations providing feedback are: SHHEO, ECOO, ASCE • OCTE along with STAO also provides feedback on the Science and Technology curriculum

Connections and Opportunities • Writing Teams (July 2006): OCTE members were invited to apply to Ministry writing teams for all technological education subjects • Submission to Ministry regarding Environmental Education • Consultation on Ontario Skills Passport • In previous years there have been many opportunities for involvement

  10. 2007 OCTE/Ministry Survey • Purpose was to provide opportunity for individual teacher responses • Survey initiated and developed by OCTE • Bookmarks distributed at regional Ministry training • 636 responses from tech teachers • OCTE collated responses and provided feedback to the Ministry Contact: David Graves

  11. OCTE Retreat • Second OCTE retreat in September for planning purposes • Determine priorities and set goals for the year • All executive members and committee members

Annual Conference • Planning begins before the present conference ends • Over 300 delegates and vendors • More than 25 workshops • Keynote speakers from business/industry and international tech ed organizations, • Many noteworthy presenters • Presentations from various Ministries Contact: Joe Hogan
