MyAPIC: “MEMCHAP/Palmetto” Community Basics and How to Edit “My Subscriptions/My Settings” Robert Riede and Cindy Moon April 2014
Sign in at http://www.apic.org • Click on the Sign In button (at the top, green background) • Enter your login name and password • Once you have successfully logged into your account, click on the Quick Links tab (upside-down, green triangle next to Sign Out at the top of the page) and click “Visit MyAPIC”
MyAPIC • Once you’ve logged in for the first time, as described in the previous slide, please edit your subscription settings as described in the slides below. • To make it easier to understand how to navigate in MyAPIC and to get the most out of it, read through the FAQs located here: http://community.apic.org/myprofile/faqs
MEMCHAP/Palmetto Community • When you join APIC and our chapter, APIC Palmetto, national APIC automatically subscribes you to our chapter’s community which is titled “MEMCHAP/Palmetto”. • After logging in to MyAPIC, click on the “Communities” tab at the top of the page. You will see that “SC APIC Palmetto Members (MEMCHAP/Palmetto)” is listed as one of your communities, which means that you have rights to view, post messages in, and receive messages from other members of that community. The following slides explain how to edit your preferences in our chapter’s community and other communities in which you are subscribed (how to edit your subscriptions, email and privacy settings).
My Settings Click on “My Profile” and then “My Settings”. The drop-down menu circled below is for editing your ‘Subscriptions, Email, Privacy and RSS Feeds’ settings.
My Subscriptions Page • On the “My Subscriptions” page, the user can make changes to determine the level of communication from the source. • Real Time – get notifications as they happen • Daily Digest – a daily comprehensive notice • Mobile Device – receive on phone/tablet • No Emails – don’t receive emails • Unsubscribe Once changes are made, the user must click “Save” to maintain any changes.
My Subscriptions/ Eligible Discussion • Please note that to receive email communications from the APIC Palmetto Chapter officers, committee chairs and fellow members, you must edit your Subscription settings by clicking on “Real Time” or “Daily Digest” in the community titled “MEMCHAP/Palmetto”. • If you choose “No Emails” or if you “Unsubscribe” from this community, you will miss out on important and timely chapter news and information.
