Personal Electronic Mobile Devices It is important to recognize the significance of personal electronic mobile devices in society, work, and school. Mobile devices have the potential to contribute to the educational experience, while, at the same time, their use poses a risk for personal distraction, class disruptions, and issues of academic integrity. The effective and appropriate student management of these devices is paramount not only to the smooth operation of the high school, but also to the successful transition to the world outside of high school. To that end, students should adhere to the following expectations for the use of personal electronic mobile devices at Penncrest High School.
Personal Electronic Mobile Devices • All electronic devices should be set to the “silent” mode so that they do not distract from instruction and learning in the classroom and/or building. • Students shall be solely responsible for the safekeeping of any electronic device brought to school. Each student who brings an electronic device to school or to a school function or activity shall assume the risk of loss, theft, damage or other injury to the electronic device.
