Michener’s Chesapeake Country Scenic Byway Five Goals for the Byway • Preserve and conserve the character of the Byway’s historic sites, landscapes, towns and shorelines. • Provide a distinctive and compelling travel experience • Use the Byway as tool to extend visitor stays • Expanding the range of things to see and do on the Eastern Shore for both visitors and residents • Accommodates the wide range of needs for all roadway users while maintaining the character defining features of the Byway context.
