Koch Brothers and Americans for Prosperity David Koch (oil magnate) created & funds Americans for Prosperity, which funds the Tea Party. In addition to running pro-Walker television and radio ads and funding a pro-Walker bus tour, Americans for Prosperity is actively working to: • Repeal health care legislation • Repeal Wall Street reform legislation • Eliminate the Environmental Protection Agency KOCH
American Legislative Exchange Council “ALEC” ALEC claims its membership exceeds 2,400 state legislators from both political parties—over 30% of all state lawmakers in the US. • ALEC develops model anti-worker legislation for right-wing legislators: • "right to work“ • paycheck deception • attacks on teachers and public employees
Karl Rove’s Crossroads GPS • Rove’s super PAC went on air with a 60-second spot costing $750,000 that attacks public employees and the Democrats that support them.
Right to Work • Of the 30 states with public sector collective bargaining, 25 are free bargaining states – only 5 are RTW states. • 17 of 22 RTW states prohibit public employees from bargaining. • 25 of the 28 Free Bargaining states allow public employees to bargain collectively.
