Life Cycle • Blue whales carry their young for a year • They have one baby at a time • Carnivore • Life span 80 to 90 years
Adaptations • It survives in the cold waters • The hair in its mouth helps catch the food • They are camouflaged • They swim very fast when they’re hunted
Reasons for Endangered Status • Attacked by sharks ,killer whales and people • Their food is disappearing • They’re hunted for the blubber • There been 30,000 blue whales killed
Conservation • There are 5,000 Blue Whales left • 1966 legal protection from commercial whaling • Pick up litter so it doesn’t go in the ocean
