Challenges of Teaching • Transitioning from the healthcare setting to a classroom teacher • Navigating updates and changes in the health science curriculum • Working with limited budgets to purchase equipment and supplies • Developing lesson plans for substitutes that are meaningful and easy to follow • Making challenging health-related topics interesting, understandable, and FUN!

Opportunities for Honors Projects • Volunteer Opportunities: • American Red Cross • Community Blood Centers • Other Blood Centers • Local Community Organizations • Charity Organizations • Hospice • All of the above offer opportunities for Health Science courses to earn service hours and create projects to add to their portfolios.

Meaningful Movies • Thought provoking movies can be great resources to reinforce objectives in health science • Used to create writing prompts • Evoke research using technology • Encourage classroom discussions and debates • Provide visualization for complex topics • Use in entirety or segments
