  1. Welcome Parents and Students! Greenwich Elementary Mrs. Baylor’s Self-Contained Classroom

  2. Contact Information Mrs. Baylor’s email: baylora@gtsd.net School phone number: (908) 859-2022 Please feel free to contact me at any time with questions, concerns, or ideas. Any urgent messages or last minute changes in dismissal should be directed to the main office so that the information is sure to reach us in time.

  3. Communication All students will receive a communication book to be used as a communication tool for parents and teachers. If this is not your preferred way of communicating on a daily basis, please let me know, and we can use a different tool. Students will also receive a folder to be used for important papers to be sent home or to school.

  4. Paraprofessionals and Other Staff Mrs. Isaacs, Mrs. Russo, and Mrs. O’Neill are the paraprofessionals who will be working with our class this year! Mrs. Lewis will continue providing OT services to our students. Ms. Frutchey will be working with our students for speech and language.

  5. Our Program Students will be taught using an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) program. Instruction is individualized for each student. Jackie Weber, Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), will be working closely with our class and guiding the program.

  6. Social Skills and Play Skills Students will spend time each day learning and practicing social skills and play skills. We will participate in the our school’s ‘Buddies’ program with a fifth grade buddy.

  7. Sensory Play Students will have the opportunity each day to participate in sensory play activities.

  9. Art Therapy and Music Therapy • Our class will continue to receive Art Therapy and Music Therapy one hour per week, alternating weeks between Art and Music.

  10. Field Trip Our class will be going on a field trip! Specific information will be given once plans are finalized.

  11. Class Parties Our class will participate in classroom parties during the months of October, December, February, and June. More information will go home as each party approaches.

  12. Lunch and Snacks Students will eat lunch and two snacks daily. Please feel free to send in extra snacks for your child in case they may be needed. If your child does not eat breakfast, please send it in with him/her and we can make sure that it is offered before our day begins. If your child is buying lunch, please make a note of it in the communication book. School menus are posted on the school website monthly.

  13. We are looking forward to a great year! Thank you for working together with us this year! We are excited to work with our students this year and watch them learn and grow.
