Research Areas in Electromagnetics and Applications • Antennas and Radiation • New material for advanced antenna applications: artificial materials, unidirectionally conducting substrates, anisotropic substrates. High efficiency, high polarization purity, high gain, wide-angle steerability. • Printed and integrated antennas and phased arrays, compact diversity antennas. • Microwave Circuits and Devices • Microwave circuits with advanced materials, non-radiative dielectric waveguides, waveguides for compact multilayer ICs, power leakage phenomena in multilayer circuits and suppression methods. • Circuits for millimeter, sub-millimeter wave, terahertz applications, multilayer ICs, multilayer large phased arrays. • Electromagnetic Theory and Computational Electromagnetics • “Smart-EM” analysis and computation. Numerical-analytical methods, hybrid techniques using suited methods for different parts for fast computation. EM modeling of artificial material environment. • Large system simulations, high frequency or large bandwidths, fast design optimization for complex systems, advanced materials and devices for next generation applications.
