  2. Dipping a toe into Marine Science on the Shores of San Diego…

  3. Sea Camp • An Exciting, innovative, hands-on, and interactive marine science experience where students engage in solving issues facing marine life and their ecosystem.

  4. Five Day Immersion in the Science of Aquatic Ecosystems • Deep Sea • Intertidal Shore • Bay

  5. Snorkeling/Seining at Mission Point Bay

  6. Study Bay Ecology while kayaking around Fiesta Island and physical oceanography while boogie boarding at the shores

  7. Spend the day on a 65 foot “Floating Classroom” watching for marine life and interacting with marine life while snorkeling

  8. Participate in classes such as: • Invertebrate Lab • Plankton Lab • Fish Adaptation Lab • Marine Mammal and Behavior Lab • Night Adaptations Lab

  9. Sample Daily Schedule 6:00 a.m. Quiet time ends 4:30 p.m. Back to camp 7:00 a.m. Breakfast 5:00 p.m. Dinner/free time 8:00 a.m. Morning activity begins 7:00 p.m. Evening labs (lab or water excursions) 9:00 p.m. In rooms 12:00 p.m. Lunch 9:30 p.m. Lights out/quiet 1:30 p.m. Afternoon activities begin (lab or water excursions)

  10. Choice Between Two Trip Dates • September 8 – 12, 2014, or • September 15 – 19, 2014 • Each week is limited to 52 participants, up to 26 boys and 26 girls

  11. Transportation • Leave DIA Monday a.m.; arrive in San Diego no later than 10:30 a.m. • SEACAMP bus from airport to Fiesta Island • SEACAMP buses will provide all transportation in San Diego • Return to DIA- Friday p.m. around 10:30 p.m.

  12. Housing • One boys dorm room with 26 beds • One girls dorm room with 26 beds

  13. Cost Total cost for per student = $1,240* • Sea Camp Student Tuition $705.00 • Chaperon Tuition/Admin costs $135.00 • Transportation $400.00 Additional costs to include lunch to/from and spending monies Costs are estimated, based on 52 students attending. Final amounts will be determined in July.

  14. What do I need to do now? • Choose your preferred week • Register and make your deposit at the AA School Store - open for registration beginning on May 1st • Registration closes May 31st.

  15. Payment Schedule • May 1st - 31st Payment 1 $500 • June 1st - 15th Payment 2 $400 • July 1st - 15th Payment 3 $340* • *Payment 3 will be adjusted based on final Airline costs
