  2. Topic- Construction of Political News Target Audience – Consumers Method- Discourse Analysis and Critical thinking Main Idea- An In Depth discussion on the topic of News Reporting. Interest groups that target audiences on what and how news gets reported.

  3. “The media decide what is worth reporting. Some people and organizations are accepted as "news sources," and some kinds of events are assumed to be pregnant with meaning for the general Public” ( Eledman , 91)

  4. Think about the quote, “ The Media decides what is worth reporting.” Assuming you gather news from different sources, do you find a clear difference or close relationship between on Hard News “reporting” and opinion ?

  5. “A great deal of routine political news deals with governmental procedures that guarantee a contest; people take sides and so create suspense respecting an outcome. Elections, legislative battles, court cases,"summit" meetings, treaty negotiations, and other competitive events are opportunities for the news media to focus upon situations that involve both some element of surprise and personalities who win or lose” (Edelman, 102).
