We often don’t see the immediate value or immediate results of prayer, so we choose not to pray.
We want easy answers and quick results. Because prayer doesn’t offer these, we move along without it.
By bypassing prayer we are passing up the most powerful aspect of how we relate with God.
Prayer is communication. Just as communication is the basic, fundamental element of our relationships with other people, prayer is the basic, fundamental element of how we relate with God.
“Pray without ceasing…” 1 Thessalonians 5:17 “Pray at all times…” Ephesians 6:18 “Continue steadfastly in prayer…” Colossians 4:2
If Jesus needed to pray… we certainly have the need to pray.
Start this week setting aside a specific time to spend even just a few minutes in prayer.
God loves you… and just as earthly parents want their kids to talk to them, God wants us to talk with Him.
“...my eyes will be open and my ears attentive.” 2 Chronicles 7:15
“This is what the Lord says, He who made the earth, the Lord who formed it and established it – the Lord is His name: ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” Jeremiah Chapter 33
October is a month where, together, I’m calling on you to pray.
Talk to God about where you are… what’s on your heart… what’s going on in your life… and where you need help.
