Gran Canaria…? A Spanish island in the Atlantic Ocean Surface: 1,500 km² A population of approximately 1 million inhabitants Main economic activities: - The 2nd most important port of Spain - Tourism: more than 156,000 hotel beds,9,000 bars and restaurants Tourism supports 80% of economic activity. Gran Canaria needed new technology to improveits services
End goal To show entrepreneurs in the tourism industry that information technology and telecommunications (ITC) arean improvement tool that will have a positive impact on their business results.
General description Entrepreneural associations created a technological company, Tourism On Line (TOL). Its aim is to serve entrepreneurs as a remote tool leading to the improvment, flexibility and higher effectivity in relations with all participants in this branch.
What is our task? The FEHT1) and TOL2) keeps a check on potential ITC opportunities in the industry, examines which matters could be resolved with these opportunities and what benefits they could provide for company management. 1) Federation of Bussiness, Hotels and Tourism of Las Palmas 2) Tourism On Line
