  1. “Comparatively Speaking” Your Next Exhibition! Wah Hoo!

  2. What will you do? • In groups (these will be announced later today): • Create a 3 minute broadcast covering the topics of your research papers • Be prepared for a 15-20 minute “Meet the Press” style discussion *This is covered in the first two paragraphs of the handout.

  3. How will you do this? • Your group will choose a prototype show to model your broadcast such as: • The View, The Daily Show, Ellen, Sportscenter, 60 minutes, Tavis Smiley, and all the others on your handout *Remember all of these shows are to be used for inspiration and ideas, not to copy word for word!

  5. Of course, there are requirements… • Have a theme that binds your topics together. • Make sure your broadcast has the format similar to an essay: • Intro, Body, Conclusion • Let’s all read through the other requirements quickly…

  6. How will your group work together? • 2 Directors • 1 Host/Moderator (Bilingual) • 3 experts/guests • At least one guest must speak in Spanish • 1 Props and Costumes Person (will also act) • 1 Graphic Designer (will also act) • Makes the logo, the graphs and the graphics

  7. There will also be a crew… • The crew will work with Regina and they are: • 3 Camera Operators • 1 Sound Person • All of these people will be editors…

  8. Meet The Press? • Yes, after your 3 minute broadcast, your group will “meet the press,” which means: • Teachers will ask your group specific questions so that your group can defend its viewpoints and work • Please use formal language • 2-3 questions per group member • 15 to 20 minutes for each group *Please look at your handout for more detailed requirements…

  9. There are real deadlines! • As with most exhibitions, there is a lot to do, so let’s look at the schedule together so we’re all crystal clear…

  10. Remember… • The Exhibition is on Tuesday March 27th at 6pm! Also remember: • Exhibitions are stressful, but really, really good… • The last one was stressful, but really, really good… • Let’s get focused and work together!
