Gonorrhea • Very infectious and common STD. • Symptoms usually appear 2-5 days after infection. • Gonorrhea can affect the anus, eyes, mouth, genitals, or throat. • Abstinence and condoms are the only way to protect yourself from Gonorrhea or any STI or STD.
Trichomoniasis • Considered one of the most curable and common STD. • Is actually a parasite that is transferred from person to person during sex. • There are some symptoms but 70% of infected people don’t have any symptoms. • Estimated that there are 3.7 million people infected in the United States.
Spermicide • Spermicide is squirted into the vagina before sex. • If used correctly 15% of women will get pregnant. If not used correctly 29% get pregnant. • Its more effective if used with another form of birth control • Spermicide doesn’t reduce the risk of getting an STI. • Compared to other forms of birth control, spermicide isn’t as practical or effective. • Cost: $7-$18.
