  2. First Year @ RGU Awards Title: Using streamed video to enhance and provide alternative routes to learning regional anatomy. Objectives: To establish a bank of core regional anatomy reusable learning objects (RLO). Indicative activities: To work collaboratively to create, develop and evaluate a pilot package of online activities incorporating recently purchased streamed video content.

  3. Reusable Learning Objects (RLOs) • RLOs were created using • Course Genie • Eclipse Crossword • Developed from • existing anatomy materials • new streamed anatomy video resource • newly created self-assessment materials

  4. Reusable Learning Object 2: The Knee • Aims • References • Audiovisual Resources • Self Assessment Questions

  5. Evaluation • Online questionnaire. • Distributed to students on completion of the year 1 module, HS1042: Structure & Function of the Human Body. • Created using Question-mark Perception. • 100 of 156 students undertaking the module completed the questionnaire.

  6. Gender and Age

  7. Professional Group

  8. clear options at each stage easy to navigate clear instructions consistent procedures videos worthwhile easy to read informative presentation enjoyable to use helps learning fits with rest of material worth the time help to revise confidence with CAL useful resource Statements about the RLOs: Likert Scales Findings: No significant differences between professional groups, which have very different criteria for admission, except for “clear instructions” where there was a statistically significant difference between two of the professional groups.

  9. Preferences

  10. Summary • 97.9% liked using the RLOs to support their study of regional anatomy. • 96.9% agreed (53.5) or strongly agreed (43.4) that the RLOs helped with revision. • 88.9% agreed (68.7) or strongly agreed (20.2) that the RLOs were enjoyable to use

  11. Qualitative Analysis – 6 Themes • Improved visualisation • Reinforced learning • Provided an alternative learning style • Provided structure and organisation for learning • Supplemented learning • Future/professional utility
