  1. Eventing NSW – Shane Rose REVERSE MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT

  2. Reverse qualifications for horses is triggered by three cross-country eliminations in a 12-month rolling period, or two consecutive eliminations Only elimination for dangerous riding or fall of horse or rider and 3 or 4 refusals are taken into account. Other eliminations don't count e.g. missing a jump, time etc. The horse and rider (that triggered the RQ) must obtain a Minimum Eligibility Requirement (MER) at the lower level before being eligible to compete again at the higher level. Having fulfilled the MER does not automatically imply competence or fitness to compete at a higher level. The choice if and when to upgrade a horse or rider must remain with the rider, trainer and owner under the control of the National Federation and does not have to become an automatic consequence of the fulfilment of MERs. HOW and WHY

  3. Eventing NSW in conjunction with the National Eventing Committee trailed Reverse Qualification in NSW for 2012. It is now a rule for all FEI and EA events in all states. All entries must be checked prior to the competition Riders are encouraged to consider obtaining more than Minimum Eligibility Requirements before moving up a level. EvNSW TRIAL

  4. The Cross-Country results for every NSW event are stored as a whole file, which is uploaded into a database which produced the query, giving a continual count of horse & rider combinations. It is the TD’s responsibility to ensure that results are sent quickly and correctly. It is hoped that the program helps educate riders and they consider their options carefully. IMPORTANCE OF RESULTS AND REPORTING

  5. The FEI require that all results use the exact code for XC elimination. National results use the FEI codes to ensure consistency. Codes for Cross Country Elimination XC-FH… Fall of Horse XC-FR… Fall of Rider XC-R… Refusals (3 or more) XC-BD…Breakable Device XC-DR…Dangerous Riding XC-AH…Abuse of Horse XC-OT…Other, error of course etc Codes for Scoring
