DMC Stats for Dauphin County and Pennsylvania County • 24.9% African American • RRI at arrest in 2008 was 2.73* • 8.1% Hispanic/Latino • 2.7% Asian • 63.8% Caucasian State14.1% African American • RRI at arrest in 2008 was 3.70* • 6.6% Hispanic/Latino • 2.4% Asian • 76.5% Caucasian *Indicates that the relative volume of arrests involving all minority youth in Dauphin County was 2.73 and 3.7 (statewide) times as high as for white youth.
Middle School DMC Curriculum Developed as an outcome to the forums Designed to reduce arrests of juveniles Focus on 7th and 8th graders Piloted in Downey in 2009 Comprised of 10 lessons designed to educate youth about their rights, responsibilities, and the juvenile justice system
