  2. Owning a boat and cleaning it regularly is a complex task. As there are many things to consider before the start and to end the boat detailing of your boat. And one such important part is boat waxing. Do you know why it is an important part of boat detailing? Boats are mostly made of fiberglass and which reacts with the water forms a thin layer on the surface of the boat over time due to oxidation. And UV rays from the sun also affect the glossy surface of the boat making it dull and color faded. This makes the boat loses its original luster and shine in time. Introduction

  3. Waxing - this hinders the process of oxidation and tries to maintain the original finish and gloss of the surface. Are you aware that the waxing of your boat also increases fuel efficiency? Because it helps in slicking the hull glides through the surface of the water with minimal resistance which in turn saves you some fuel while your boat cruises through deep waters. Waxing

  4. Waxing techniques Waxing material is also important as the waxing techniques. Whatever brand of wax you choose, just ensure that the product contains a top-grade carnauba or Brazil wax. Carnauba wax is made from a plant called carnauba palm that grows in Brazil. The benefit of using Carnauba wax is that it has a high melting point of 180 degrees F which makes a great product for waxing. Besides, being a natural product, it is eco-friendly and helps preserve the environment.

  5. Other Details Wax comes in several grades and an appropriate grade can be chosen based on oxidation effects on the boat. If you wish to perform the waxing manually then use a sponge or soft cloth to apply the wax. For quicker results, you can use an electric buffer. Make sure to go over the instructions manual to find the pressure limitation of the buffing operation to safeguard the boat's gel coat. It is important that wax is completely rubbed in a circulatory motion and no part remains cloudy. Remember that the buffer keeps moving all around to ensure no parts pick up the heat to harm the gel coat finish.

  6. Conclusion If you don't want to do the waxing job yourself once a year, you can leave it in professional hands. There are many boat detailing company offer such services altogether or only the wax along. Boat waxing should become a part of your annual maintenance schedule. However, waxing is advisable every six months to keep your boat safe from the harmful effects of UV rays and salty seawater. Step 2
